While it is essential for an employer to provide a safe and healthy workplace for its employees, it is equally important that it encourages them to opt for a healthy lifestyle. This is what the Quebec multinational CGI does for its employees. CGI is an IT and business process services giant, which ranks among the world’s five largest groups in its sector.
Since 2011, SOSCuisine has been the nutrition partner of the Oxygen program, which provides a range of health-related services and resources to CGI members worldwide. SOSCuisine’s smart meal plans are showcased as an excellent solution for better health and a better work-family balance.
Of all the various activities offered to CGI employees at the global, regional and local level to help them take steps towards improving their health, the “Stair Climbing Challenge” is one in which we participate year after year, always with great enthusiasm.
This year’s event took place on June 11 in Montreal, inside the CCE building (E-Commerce Place) where CGI is the primary tenant. All in all, the participating CGI employees climbed 22,000 floors, which is nearly 10 times the ascent of Mount Everest! To encourage activities and contribute to a good cause, CGI has presented $10,000 to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, which helps sick children.
We met several participants in the challenge as well as Mario Tremblay, a former player and coach of the National Hockey League. Through his presence, the “Bionic Blueberry” wanted to highlight the importance of helping the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. We thank him for the encouragement he gave to the SOSCuisine services, especially our VIP Personal Cook.
Hats off to CGI once again for a very useful and very well executed event!
